We’ve moved…

Hi everyone, thanks for being patient. We’re happy to say the wait is finally over. Our top secret project (yes, it was the fully-blown website) is now live, and available at So come in, have a look, put your feet up and get stuck in to the region’s best-selling technology magazine. Still a few bugs, but we’re sure you’ll help us iron those out. Now click this link, and we’ll see you on the otherside.

Watch this space…

Hey everyone, we realize the blog has been a bit on the, err… quiet side of late. But that’s because we’re working on something top secret. Bear with us, it won’t take much longer. Make sure you come back to this website (did we say site?) at the beginning of next month. We know you’re going to love it.

Logitech S315i portable iPod dock

Portable Spealer S315i

On the verge of new iPods being released (September 9th) Logitech has given us two new portable iPod docks. The S315i (above) looks pretty neat, packing up to 20-hours of portable power with the ability to recharge your iPod on-the-go. The S125i weighs only 500g, but will keep your tunes pumping for over 10-hours. Both are available right now, for US$140 and US$100 respectively.

Steamy upcoming Lucasarts re-releases

To coincide with today’s release of the first Tales of Monkey Island downloadable episode (as well as a sexed up re-release of the original classic Secret of Monkey Island coming next Wednesday) Lucasarts announced yesterday that a slew of their classic titles will be available for download exclusively through Valve’s online gaming portal Steam as of Wednesday June 8th. Here’s the full list of what’s dropping and simultaneously making us salivate all over our keyboards:

Armed and Dangerous
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure
LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventure
Star Wars Battlefront II
Star Wars Republic Commando
Star Wars Starfighter
The Dig
Thrillville: Off the Rails

Funnily enough no prices have been mention yet, but their twitter feed has promised that they’ll be cheap. And don’t worry, if you don’t see everything you want in that list this is apparently only phase one – bring on Grim Fandango and Day of the Tentacle we say!

Bl-app-Berry World (well US, Canada and the UK)

BBerry App World MySpace
Today sees the launch of the BlackBerry App World for the US, UK and Canadian markets. The online app market is accessible to BlackBerrys with a rollerball or touchscreen* (via Wi-Fi and mobile networks).  Although frustrating for anyone based outside the three launch countries, BlackBerry’s App World definitely looks the part and might well be worth the wait (update on UAE launch date to follow). Visually very similar to Apple’s App Store, BlackBerry’s version comes with quite a healthy selection of launch apps including Facebook, MySpace, Pandora, Windows Live Messenger and even UNO (which has us a little excited – is that sad?). According to its press announcement, RIM expects over 1,000 fresh apps to be added this week and like Apple they have sent a plea out to app designers everywhere to get busy developing.

Dell Adamo is ‘thinnest laptop ever’

After getting a glimpse at CES, Dell’s much-teased Adamo was released last night. Supposedly the thinnest laptop ever, it has a depth of 0f 1.65cm, compared to the MacBook Air’s sleek 1.9cm frame (at its thickest point). It’s pricey – expect it around the US$2,000 mark – but has solid specs to back up the expense. It packs a 13.4in screen, 2 USB ports (with a built-in mobile broadband option also available), up to five hours of battery life and will come in onyx or pearl colouring (that’s black and silver to those who left their colour palettes at home). At a time when most manufacturers are embracing the cheap netbook option, it will be interesting to see whether this high-end PC sinks or swims. Only time, and your wallets, will tell.

Arai Quantum 2 Helmet keeps heads safe

Biking is dangerous. Minimize the risk of bashing your brain with this high tech helmet. The Quantum 2 is made with Super Complex Laminate Construction which provides tremendous strength by spreading the force of impact. It’s also packed full of handy features, like an exhaust ventilation system, UV protected faceshield and de-misting glass. Brad Pitt has one, and if anyone needs to protect his chiselled money-printing noggin, it’s that man.

Come and eye more bike accesories and the latest two-wheeled motors with Stuff at Gulf Bike next week.
