With netbooks and a new breed of sleek ultrathin ‘notbooks‘ vying for your hard earned PC budget, it’s no surprise the regular run-of-the-mill laptops have been ignored of late. If it’s not super-small and wafer-thin, then it’s just not worth putting in your shopping basket, right? Well Acer hopes to change all that with its latest Aspire line, and this AS5739G (probably thought if the name was big and confusing, the laptop would appear small and simple by comparison) is no exception. It packs a Blu-ray player, 15.6in LED LCD screen, 2.1 GHz Core 2 Duo processor, GeForce GT 130 graphics card and Dolby surround sound output, all for bargain price of US$750. That sounds like a mighty fine deal to us.
