We’ve just finished toying with HP’s latest laptop, and we’re impressed. Going down the sleek and slim route, its left the netbook category well alone (that’s MiniNote territory) with the Vista-running dv2. The sleek black casing is just under an inch thick, but that still leaves enough room for an AMD Athlon Neo chipset, Ati Radeon graphics (with HDMI output), 500GB hard drive and up to 4GB of RAM. That’s not too shabby for a 12.1in PC starting at US$680. It even comes with a portable DVD writer as standard and it’s 3G SIM enabled. It seems a tad on the heavy side, but that’s just because we keep forgetting it’s not a netbook.
