Let’s face facts. Rollerblading went out of style the same time grown men started using it for excercise (mid 90s). Strapping anything to your feet with a bright red and yellow colour scheme is a bad idea. And attaching springs and airbags to a pair of in-line skates will not make them feel like you’re skating on ice. That said, there is a certain something about this concept pair from designer Pouyan Mokhtarani. The ethos is that by cushioning your feet with pockets of air, your skating will be smoother (like that across a frozen lake, apparently) and the lack of vibrations will be kinder on your joints. We’re not sure about that, but we do know that bolting springs on a pair of rollers will inevitably lead to some crazy stunts.
